SHI Annual Revenues Up 28% in 2011

In support of this growth, SHI increased its overall headcount by 200 employees

SHI International Corp., one of North America’s top 20 largest IT solutions providers and Platinum Plus Sponsor of 10th Cloud Expo [June 11-14, New York City] last month announced revenue of $3.8 billion for the full year of 2011, a 28 percent increase over 2010. In support of this growth, SHI increased its overall headcount by 200 employees.

In August 2011, SHI Enterprise Solutions (ESS) division launched the SHI Cloud, offering reliable and cost-effective industrial-grade cloud computing platforms. That same division achieved an 82 percent increase in revenue over 2010.

SHI continues to thrive in support of its volume licensing-based partnerships with software giants such as Symantec, Adobe, VMware, and Microsoft. On the strength of 44 percent year-over-year revenue growth, SHI was named Symantec Partner of the Year in October. SHI also demonstrated a continued commitment to quality by growing its already mature Microsoft business 22 percent while winning its eighth-consecutive Microsoft Operational Excellence Award in July.

In the biggest increase among its top-five overall partners, SHI’s VMware revenue jumped nearly 90 percent in 2011, a major reason why SHI formally launched the SHI Cloud at VMworld in August.

On the hardware side, SHI’s HP-related sales were up 31 percent due to steady gains in the personal systems group combined with substantial growth in HP’s Enterprise Storage Servers and Networking (ESSN) product lines. SHI’s Dell sales were also up 14 percent overall, but 178 percent in the SMB space, accented by Michael Dell presenting Thai Lee with SHI’s second-consecutive Dell Partner of the Year Award last month at SHI’s Corporate Sales Kickoff in Austin, Texas.

SHI’s revenue growth came from all sales verticals and geographies, including nearly 20 percent growth in legacy Enterprise and Public Sector business, 96 percent in the company’s four-year-old Corporate/SMB division, 11 percent in Canada, 43 percent in the UK, and significant year-over-year gains in the relatively new SHI SAS division in France.
